I knew I wanted something to incorporate wings/feathers/flying and education. Since, in many of these underprivileged places , education is the key to freedom.

Below are a small collection of logo images which inspired me in their own way.

From the above images, I decided to try and combine a pencil and a wing. This was not a successful logo design at all but experimenting helped me see exactly what I wanted.

Decided to take a different route all together, I experimented with hearts and finger prints to portray individuality and equality, I began by smudging ink on a page to see how it would look raw, I then mocked one up in photoshop and added colours to see how it would play against different backgrounds. Although I liked the outcome, it wasn't what I envisioned for Mbawa. It didn't capture the essence of the project and the fact that education is such a gateway to freedom for these children.
